Part 1

Part 2

We are three mothers who are Subject Matter Experts in communication, psychology, and education. Our mission was to create a workbook and resource empowering parents to confidently advocate for their child's (teenager's) educational needs.

This parent workbook is broken into three main sections. In the first section, we discuss issues that impact our emotions and impede us (as parents) from communicating effectively.

In the second section, we cover the strategies that increase our ability to communicate effectively. These are the same real-life principles taught to senior level managers and executives of companies.

In the final section, we explain the IEP/504 process in detail, so you are equipped with the information you need to be prepared and successful when engaging in IEP/504 meetings.

In each section, we provide information and give you the opportunity to work through the questions or exercises that help activate the material. Consider this your toolbox. Once you have worked through this booklet, you will be able to think and behave more strategically.
